Kawa Brass Band

Kawa Brass Band

The Jaipur Kawa Brass Band brings the vibrant gypsy spirit of Rajasthan to international stages. With dazzling brass players, a fakir performing breathtaking illusions, and the hypnotic Kalbelia “snake-charmer” dance, their shows blend Rajasthani folk, Bollywood hits, and Indian classical traditions into an explosion of rhythm, color, and energy.

Renowned worldwide, the band has appeared at Coke Studio India, the Glastonbury Festival with Mick Jagger, the 1998 FIFA World Cup Carnavalcade, and even at royal events such as Buckingham Palace, along with countless world music festivals across Europe and beyond. Their mix of heritage and innovation has earned them a reputation as one of India’s most dynamic musical ensembles.

Originally created in the 1990s under the vision of tabla maestro Hameed Khan Kawa, the group is now led by his cousin Mosin Kawa, himself a gifted tabla player with collaborations spanning jazz, world, and classical music. Continuing this legacy, the Jaipur Kawa Brass Band unites talented musicians from Rajasthan and captivates audiences everywhere with humor, virtuosity, and high-voltage stage presence.
