The Kawa Brothers – Heirs to a Royal Tradition
The Kawa Brothers embody the living soul of Rajasthani music. Descended from an
illustrious lineage in Jaipur, the royal city and cultural heart of India, they have carried
forward a musical heritage passed down from father to son for generations.
Their great-great-grandfather, the legendary Ustad Molabuks Dawasi, was one of the master
musicians at the court of the Maharajas of Rajasthan. Within this prestigious setting, serving
kings and nobles, he shaped a refined style blending virtuosity, devotion, and nobility.
True to this heritage, the Kawa Brothers have, over time, preserved the authenticity of this
tradition while bringing it onto contemporary stages across the globe. Their art, nourished by
centuries of knowledge and practice, has earned them international recognition and a
reputation as indispensable ambassadors of Rajasthan’s classical and folk music
Each note they perform resonates as a bridge between the splendor of yesterday’s royal courts
and today’s audiences worldwide. More than musicians, the Kawa Brothers are guardians of
a living memory, carrying forward the timeless richness of Indian culture.
At the same time, they are deeply committed to the future: the Kawa Brothers
actively promote and mentor young Rajasthani artists, offering them opportunities to share
their talent on the world stage.
Today, the Kawa Brothers perform regularly in Paris, across France, Switzerland, Belgium,
and Germany, bringing the colors of India to European audiences. Whether in concerts,
festivals, or private events, they are among the most sought-after Indian musicians in Paris
and Europe, renowned for their unique blend of authenticity, artistry, and royal heritage
